Recently, meditation has become a valuable tool for finding a peaceful oasis of relaxation and stress relief in a demanding, fast–paced world. Traditionally, meditation was (and still is) used for spiritual growth, as well as for relaxation. It involves the theory of becoming more conscious, or becoming more aware of, a guiding force in our lives, accentuating a journey to the "True Self."

When beginning your meditation practice, the most important thing to remember is to approach meditation with "relaxed effort," and not to be concerned about doing it correctly, or worrying what is "supposed" to happen. Because meditation techniques are not always as straightforward as they may seem and perfecting them may not be easy, a mentor can help you in your spiritual journey.
