Body Building

Body Building

Weight training improves your body's appearance through muscular development. The process of building muscle and muscle toning happens when the muscle is forced to move a resistance — a weight — that is greater than the muscle is accustomed to moving. This is called "overloading." The muscle adapts by getting larger and stronger.

This overload causes muscle fibers to wear down through tiny micro–tears (why they call a lean body "ripped") and the build–up of lactic acid. When all or most of the muscle fibers are worn out, the muscle is unable to continue moving the weights. This is called muscle fatigue. Our experienced, non–judgmental, and body–positive personal trainers make sure that clients at intermediate and advanced levels try to achieve muscle fatigue when training.

Because muscle burns fat, weight training is a fat–busting tool: extra muscle burns more energy than body fat at rest. If you develop more muscle, you burn extra energy — and get rid of stored fat. Don't worry — you won't look like a body builder if you don't want to. Our trainers help you gain lean muscle, lose fat, and be stronger, leaner, and healthier overall without a bulky, "pumped up" look. (Unless you want it!)

In addition to the aesthetic changes to your physique and building strength, a body building program has many benefits, including: increased fat loss, improved bone density, better endurance and performance, soft connective tissues strengthening (ligaments and tendons), elevated metabolism, lowered risk of sports injury, and better functional ability in general.
